Comprehensive PT & Rehabilitation Services
The human body is amazingly interconnected -- muscles are connected to your bones, bones connected to your ligaments, ligaments are connected to joints, and so on. As such, it may be difficult to accurately identify the true source of pain stemming from your sports injury or how to relieve it. That’s where we come in.
At Cary Orthopaedic Performance PT, we base our orthopaedic and sports physical therapy around this “kinetic chain” premise in efforts to help you identify the cause of your pain. Once this is established, we proceed with the appropriate course of action.
Manual therapy describes a specialized form of physical therapy delivered by touch as opposed to a machine or device. Our skilled manual therapists use a hands-on approach to apply specific pressure to your affected muscle tissue and joints to produce a corrective action to alleviate problems caused by your sports or work injury.
In addition to our skilled manual therapy services, we offer aquatic (or pool) therapy with an exercise program performed entirely in water. This type of therapy is considered beneficial for a variety of orthopaedic and sports injuries where the reduced impact on joints is crucial.
In addition to making exercising easier and less painful, aquatic therapy allows for muscle strengthening without the use of weights. It also utilizes hydrostatic pressure to decrease swelling and improve joint position awareness.
Our Physical Therapists are now fully trained in the Graston Technique. This state of the art hands on method of treatment combines the use of specific instrumentation and skilled evaluation and treatment techniques to address painful and restricted areas of the body resulting in effective, positive outcomes in many orthopedic and spine related conditions.
As part of a total approach to treatment and rehabilitation, our Physical Therapists employ the Kinesio Taping Method which is a specific taping technique to stabilize muscles and joints which in turn facilitates the body's natural healing process. Kinesio Taping is used for anything from headaches to foot problems and many problems in between.
We offer both manual therapy and aquatic therapy for all of our orthopaedic, sports and spine injury patients.
