Manual Therapy
The therapeutic technique known as “manual therapy” references a specialized form of physical therapy that is conducted by hand versus through the use of exercise equipment or another type of device. It is especially effective in relieving deep-rooted pain in spinal injuries, as our skilled manual therapists use a “hands on” approach to apply direct pressure to affected muscle tissue along the spine.
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic (or pool) therapy is the scientific practice of physical therapy in an aquatic environment. It includes the treatment and rehabilitation of spinal and sports injuries where a reduced impact on joints is crucial. It also contributes to overall patient health and wellness.
Performed entirely under water, this exercise program is beneficial for those suffering from musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and other diseases, disorders, or conditions. Aquatic therapy also allows for muscle strengthening without the use of weights and utilizes hydrostatic pressure to decrease swelling and improve joint position awareness.
Kinesio Taping
As part of a total approach to treatment and rehabilitation, our Physical Therapists employ the Kinesio Taping Method which is a specific taping technique to stabilize muscles and joints which in turn facilitates the body's natural healing process. Kinesio Taping is used for anything from headaches to foot problems and many problems in between.
